Bnei Brak — Info and FAQ

Product Description

What to do in «Bnei Brak», Israel

Bnei Brak is the only large city in Israel with a predominantly Ultra-Orthodox Jewish population. The city is located in the Dan region east of Tel Aviv, just after Ramat Gan. Bnei Brak provides an Ultra-Orthodox and kosher experience, giving a glimpse into another world. Its small area and a large number of its residents make it the most densely populated city in Israel. Also, its population growth rate is one of the highest in Israel.

Events & Attractions:

The Ultra-Orthodox character of the city has a special charm. There are no fashion shops here, there are no beautiful cafés and fancy restaurants, but there are simplicity, modesty and a uniqueness, culminating in the bustle of Friday prior to the beginning of the Sabbath, as masses of the Orthodox flock to the synagogues for prayer. When you arrive in Bnei Brak on Friday, you must start with the main street of the city — Rabbi Akiva Street. This is the beating heart of Bnei Brak, from which leads to the neighborhoods, yeshivas, synagogues, hundreds of charitable institutions and the «Gmulut Hassadim,» which constitute a huge cultural and economic enterprise that is hidden from Israelis who do not know the experience.

The Ultra-Orthodox are divided into different Chassidic sects, and to different communities, and the city is divided according to the same principle. In between, there are a large number of yeshivot and areas of different Rebbe’s, Kollels and other Torah institutions.

In Bnei Brak, you will find the Israeli Center for Sports Climbing and the Coca-Cola Visitor Center.

Transportation in Bnei Brak is based on city and inter-city buses, taxis and private cars.
